Setyr Rods® was a company dedicated to providing a quality Professional fishing rod, with the highest level of design and handcrafted artisanship available anywhere at any price. Jim Eldred, who learned the art of rod building and design from Bobby Loomis, founded our company in the summer of 2004. Rod production began in January 2005 with our first rod model the CLS190M. Setyr has since expanded the rod line-up and now hand crafts over 230 graphite rod models in 18 distinctive categories for both fresh and saltwater applications.
In an industry cluttered with imports and inexpensive copies Setyr Rods has opted to build a Professional style graphite rod that is light, sensitive, powerful and durable. Using top of the line components, scientific engineering and rod design and our own American-made graphite blanks has allowed Setyr to create a true Professional Fishing Tool. When you buy a Setyr Rod you will fish with the same rod our Pro Staff uses. No shortcuts, no smoke and mirrors here. Setyr Rods, unlike some other companies, does not build custom rods for our Pros and sell an inexpensive copy at retail. The pros that use Setyr Rods are using, off the shelf models, exactly the same as you would get. That’s why Pros like Dave Lefebre say, “Setyr Rods are without doubt the best fishing rods I’ve ever held in my hands.”
The four elements that make up Setyr Rod’s ® Compodynamic® Design are: Composition, Components, Design and Evolution. Our commitment to these four basic elements provide the foundation for our mission to build a quality, hand crafted, American made, Professional fishing rod with the highest level of design and components.
The Composition:
Setyr Rods® uses the best graphite available for the rods intended application. Graphite is an evolutionary material, which, in conjunction with our designer and graphite manufacturer, allows us to create the finest blanks available. It’s not necessarily the composite you use; it’s how you use the composite.
The Components
Setyr Rods uses Forecast® components from Batson Enterprises®. The design of Batson’s Forecast® components represents the culmination of ideas that come from more than 50 years of rod manufacturing and custom rod building experience. No corners cut here, just honest quality and attention to detail that allow Batson Components to excel in quality, performance and value.
The Design
Our rods are crafted with naked, finely sanded, graphite blanks. Setyr Rods® use garnet thread wraps with fine silver accents. Our rod guides have a bright Titanium Hydrogenated gray coating and Zirconium rings. Setyr has created what we believe to be the best combination of graphite blanks, Titanium Guides, reel seats and handles available.

Setyr Rods® has created rod designs that are sensitive, light, durable, powerful and available with a wide variety of actions.
Limited Life Time Warranty
SETYR RODS will, at its discretion, repair or replace any rod that has defects in materials or workmanship for the lifetime of the original purchaser. Should failure occur, please ship your SETYR ROD along with a brief message, address, phone number and a $25.00 check for shipping and handling. Should you have the unfortunate event of failure please contact us or Setyr Rods for full instructions. Your new rod will include address and other warranty information.
This warranty is limited to the REPAIR or REPLACEMENT of the rod ONLY and does not cover problems due to an unfortunate accident, misuse, alteration, or normal wear and tear. SETYR RODS will also replace your rod at a significant discount, plus a $25.00 shipping and handling fee, due to unfortunate accident.
